Neighborhood Idol - Karaoke Contest
A 12 week contest with the Finals on May 13th

a $100 bar tab each week  and $1000 cash - winner take all.  |
| 1) | The point is to have fun and fill the bar. Karaoke should never be taken seriously. | |
| 2) | Each of the 12 weeks a maximum of 10 "acts" will be allowed to compete (so the contest only takes an hour) first come - first signed up. You must sign up in person with Frank E. who gets there around 8pm. No "calling in". | |
| 3) | Regular karaoke starts at 9pm. We will continue to sign people up until we have 10 acts. The contest starts around 11:30 even if we don't have 10. No one will be able to sign up after the contest round begins. | |
| 4) | Anyone who thinks we arranged it that way to fill the bar up while you wait around for the contest to start would be right. | |
| 5) | Anyone who would like to complain about this should think about they guys trying to make enough money to afford to pay for the prizes. While your thinking, buy a drink. | |
| 6) | Contestants and non-contestants are welcome to sing for the 2 1/2 hours of regular karaoke before the contest. None of these "warm up" songs will be judged or affect your score. We might sing more regular karaoke after the contest till 1am, if there’s time. | |
| 7) | The weekly contests will be one song per "act". Duets and groups may enter as an "act" but its up to you to figure out how to split the prize. No one can be a member of more than one "act" in the SAME NIGHT. | |
| 8) | The $100 bar tab prize for 1st place will be awarded each week on the spot at the end of each night. (Tab can NOT be used the same night of the win.) | |
| 9) | Everyone else is more than welcome to believe they came in 2nd. | |
| 10) | Only first place winners will be invited to compete in the finals. | |
| 11) | All non-winners are welcome to come back and try again next week until they do win a 1st place. | |
| 12) | Weekly 1st place winners will not be allowed to compete for 2 weeks after their win and then they may try again. (This means it is possible to win the bar tab more than once but no one person can win every week.) Winning as a solo, a duo or group counts as a win for all and no member may re-enter in the two weeks as a solo or in another duo or group. | |
| 13) | On May 13th 2008 all previous weekly 1st place winners will gather at 10:30 pm to compete for the $1000 cash - winner take all. NOTE: The finalists will sing in the order they won during the weekly contests. | |
| 14) | Each contestant (or act) will be allowed one song at the finals FOR EACH WIN. If you win the bar tab 3 times, you'll get 3 songs at the finals. However, you might have qualified in more than one group or in a group and as a solo. Both "acts" will be allowed to compete against each other how ever many times they won. | |
| 15) | Rules ARE subject to change. Changes will be posted here and mentioned live at the show. | |
| 16) | There will be several judges but they are NOT Frank E. or Rufus. They only announce the results. The judges may change from week to week so if a particular judge doesn't like your style you might not face them again. So it’s worth it to keep trying. | |
| 17) | Decisions of the judges are final. Anyone who complains or pouts will be shown rule number 1. |
